It should also be noted that Vault-Tech and the other companies represented at the prewar meeting were not friends. REPCONN, West Tek, Big MT and Rob-Co were all there to hear out the idea of "profit" but were mostly adversaries behind the scenes. Lured by the prospect of profit and power thinking they would be the top dog at the end of the war, not Vault-Tech. Kind of try to think about it like Game of Thrones, all these factions vying for a single seat of power, they will do anything to get there even if it means working with their enemy for a time.

As far as explaining their thinking. Money is just a medium of exchange. In fact it expects a certain "fairness" You agree to exchange by both parties for a medium of exchange. but it is just a means to an end; capital, labor, power etc.... Even in the Soviet Union Party members were driven in luxary cars, and lived in mansions...Money is what you use in a free market, but they don't want a free market, they want a monopoly, on land, resources, power, and no oversight. Some of their phrases like "earning" makes no sense...but the writer put that in there because they wanted to frame them as capitalists, but really they're oligarchs with no interest in having to be constrained by mediums of exchange.

That's what I like about this game....EVERYTHING is in-game

So Mick Gordon who made the soundtrack for Doom Eternal, Bethesda did not pay him at all. And the new Doom The Dark Ages which is coming out next year which I’m super hyped for. Pretty much a different person will be doing the soundtrack for Doom The Dark Ages than Mick Gordon which is sad and upsetting because of Bethesda and he doesn’t do any business with them anymore cause of what they did to him. First, Vault-tec what they really want is power, that's why they thought about ending life on the surface, and gave vaults to other companies, to have resources and secure their own vaults so that they survive all the others, late or sooner the experiments in the other vaults were going to go wrong and only the Vault-Tec ones were going to remain

It's interesting how you get annoyed by minor inconsistencies and things a show glosses over, I think the reason they do is because of time and budget perhaps. And I think the reason you find yourself annoyed by this is because you are an author, a book has a lot of time to meticulously set the scene and provide lots of information. maybe your writers brain processes the show like a book. I dont know. what do you think of this?

You forgot the The Sacrifice teaser/trailer. Oh well, good video regardless. I've been playing this game since I was around highschool and up until now. This is my favorite game of all time, the game ages like a fine wine. Btw if you are interested on the story of the first survivors from Left 4 Dead 1, there's a comics called The Sacrifice.

As for what to watch next, in the history of great video game-to-tv adaptations, you'd definitely find Castlevania interesting 🦇

This is an extreme view on corporations. War times make money in real life, corporations love war. People love to hate and in resource wars, who ever is at the top can live comfortably lives n sell whatever to any side thats fighting. If they keep funding a war, a conflict of any type, they win. Its all about control.

This is kind of outside of the narrative of the show, but as to your concern about money: Vault-Tec is one of the richest corporations in the world-with resources exceeding that of all of the world's governments-making money hand-over-fist by selling Vaults to the rich and famous, and to other corporations to run sick experiments on the rich and not-so-rich and famous. As of FO76, They've also vaulted what's left of the U.S. Government's gold reserves. This hasn't been answered afaik, but it wouldn't surprise me to know they bought and stored more precious metals. By dropping the bombs themselves, they would (theoretically) have the means to create a new economy that they control. That said: Vault-Tec and all of the corporations sitting at the table are comically evil and woefully incompetent. A good fat chunk of their vaults end up failing due to internal strife (caused by societal issues, or as a result of experimentation) or external factors. The world has gone to utter shit and for longer than expected and money ends up being worthless and completely replaced by Nuka Cola bottle caps.

I guess this show isn’t for everyone. Thanks for trying it out though. I’m out.

Every character is a product of their environment, so they’re not necessarily good because they live in the wasteland. They’re complicated characters. Except Lucy, who grew up in a vault. Also, in the game you can fast travel, so I just assume everyone is fast traveling to the nearest city, which is also what you typically do in the game.

Ghoulification is the one thing I think the show explained poorly. Most things, they did a good job of presenting the world to newcomers. But not ghouls. The introduction of the drug confuses things, if you're not already familiar with the rules. Most ghouls are made by radiation exposure. That's it. It's not clear that the percentage is, but a portion of people who get a heavy dose of rads don't die, but rather have their skin harden and their soft bits (nose) fall off. They become ghouls. Lucy's mom was near the blast, so she got an extra heavy dose of rads Unfortunately, she seems to have turned rapidly, going feral. By the time Muldaver found her, she was nothing more than a burnt zombie.

If you have all the power, you have all the money, resources, etc. Is it demented? Yeah, that's in the spirit of Fallout's critique of capitalism. In the Fallout world, the mega corporations have become so large and corrupt they no longer have "normal" goals. They seek to dominate just as the nations in the Fallout world seek to dominate. The corporations just have different methods.

The big reveal at the end of this series is that Dad is going to New Vegas. New Vegas is arguably the best fallout universe.

Vault-Tec's plan isn't money. You have to understand money for what it is: a physical manifestation of power. In an economy where you need to have money to secure access to resources and labor, money is the tool of power, because the more of it you have, the more resources and labor you can afford. Vault-Tec and the other corporations at the roundtable aren't trying to win the game of capitalism so much as reset the global economy to a feudal system, where their collective knowledge and experience from the previous world will give them the ultimate advantage over the survivors. The corporations are meeting to discuss the carving up of the remaining world into their fiefdoms.
